We Got Our Craft On....

When I came across RestlessRisa's carrot tutorial on google a few weeks back I knew it would be the perfect craft to do with my group of girlfriends for our first "Get Your Craft On" night!  I love how mine turned out and it was a big hit with all the girls!!! See her tutorial for the 411...{My carrot used almost a full yard of burlap and I hot glue the tar out of it ;) }

Here is a close up of mine with the tag I came up with and instead of the ribbon {because I didn't have any black with white polka dot} I used a ripped strip of fabric and liked how it turned out!!!

And here's a shot of our "bunch" o' carrots ;)

Thanks Risa for the idea and tutorial...we had so much fun getting together and making fun Easter door decor!  P.S. I really like how the baby carrots turned out too...making one of those this weekend for my classroom door:)  One piece of foam board made two mini size carrots!

Ballard Inspiration

I L.O.V.E. getting my Ballard catalog in the mail...It is filled with so many beautiful things and causes such a strong urge to create within me!!! Last night I was looking through the April catalog and this little guy caught my eye...It is so darling! I love the neutral tones and I immediately remembered the little night light I scavengedfound in Mom's garage sale pile...

So this is what I started with..............

And this is my simple ballard inspired after::::

I really like how it turned out...

Crafting AGAIN!!! Woot Woot!!!

My national board portfolio is in the mail, and all is well with the world in my world...just ask the hubs ;)

I created this little door hanging over Christmas break but haven't had a chance to share it yet!

It was so easy...I SWEAR I took pics of the first couple of steps, but I cannot find them anywhere...I took a $3.00 Wal*Mart frame that I had broke the glass out of...hot glued some polyfill to the back piece of the frame, covered it with burlap...pulling it tight as I hot glued it...then I used black acrylic paint on some rubber stamps to stamp the word home and the cute little heart. I sanded the frame a little, and hot glued the little flower I had in my scrapbooking stash to the corner...then I twisted some wire to the brackets on the back of the frame...I.BIG.FAT.RED.PUFFY. HEART this on my front door!
